Now Corcova Roy & Dâmboviceanu vineyard covers 55 hectares – traditional grape varieties, that were here by the time of Bibești estate, all included in the DOC Mehedinți-Corcova authorized varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Fetească Neagră, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, as well as a new variety, Syrah. Between 2008-2009, the cellars were completely renovated and modernized, outfitted with modern machinery and equipment that facilitates processing.

Who we are

I’s a beautiful story, a conversation between friends that became a successful reality. Owned by Michel Roy and Șerban Dâmboviceanu, the business came into being in 2005, when, out of the 470 hectares of vineyards owned by the IAS Corcova, only 18 hectares remained, and the cellars, built by Prince Anton Bibescu in the early 20th century, were in ruins.

TRADITION

We believe that wine is more than what you drink and enjoy. The wine has an undeniable sense of place, and the French have even a word for it: it’s called terroir.

Corcova wine bears the original imprint of the place and speaks of history, distinction, passion. The personality of the terroir is set by the happy combination of the climatic elements with the geological specificity, by the right choice of the grape varieties and, especially, by the attention for the winemaking process.

At Corcova, on the estate of Bibescu family, the wine was the decanter around whom exchanges of ideas, intense experiences, memorable writings were born and an impressive number of personalities coagulated. It is a legacy we take care of.
